George E. Gift, Jr. 62 of Liverpool passed away on Saturday July 10, 2010 at his home.
He was born on December 29, 1947 in Mechanicsburg to George E. Gift, Sr. and Arlene Miller Gift.
He was a graduate of Cedar Cliff High School, Class of 1965. He was also a retired Battalion Chief for the city of Harrisburg, Bureau of Fire, a member of I.A.F.F. local 428, a member of Retired Professional Fire Fighters Assn, and a life member of Camp Curtin Fire Company # 13.
George was also the former Chairman of the Board of the PA Municipal Retirement System. The actual board room is named in his honor for his devoted and dedicated work with the board.
Surviving is his father, George E. Gift, Sr. of Loysville.; his loving wife, Flo Wolfe Gift of Liverpool; a son, George E. Gift III; a daughter, Christine M. High of Liverpool; a brother, Gary Gift, Sr. of Lemoyne, 4 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Arlene Miller and a son, Ronald L. Wolfe.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2010 from 10-11AM at Dailey Funeral Home, Penbrook.
Services will begin at 11AM at the funeral home.
Burial will be in E. Harrisburg Cemetery.
